Porto, Portugal, holds a special place in my heart, not only for its breathtaking landscapes and historic charm but for the transformative experiences it gifted me during my study abroad. From the moment I stepped foot in the city, I was captivated by its vibrant energy and rich cultural tapestry.

Nestled within the bustling São Bento train station, was the hostel me and friends stayed in. The hostel's communal spaces became the hub for unforgettable conversations and newfound friendships, connecting me with fellow travelers from across the globe.
During the weekend trip, I found a culinary gem —the found pasteis de nata. The moment I savored its delicate layers of flaky pastry and luscious custard, I was transported to a realm of pure delight. The sweetness lingered on my palate, leaving an indelible mark of Portugal's rich culinary heritage and the warmth of its flavors.

If you like to surf, Portugal is the place to be. The coasts are home to some of the biggest waves in the world as well as the best beaches to start to learn. My friends and I rented boards in the mornings to ride infamous waves. The salty breeze kissed my skin, and the panoramic view of the horizon infused my spirit with a sense of serenity that only the embrace of nature can offer.

Amidst the bustling streets and the tranquil shores, Porto's architectural marvels unfolded before my eyes, each narrating a tale of the city's rich history and timeless grandeur. The iconic Dom Luís I Bridge stood tall, casting its majestic shadow over the meandering Douro River, while the awe-inspiring Sé do Porto invoked a sense of reverence for the city's cultural heritage.
