Scottish Highlands

My time studying abroad at the University of Edinburgh has been an incredible journey of exploration, and one place that has truly stood out is the Isle of Skye. This remote island, situated off the west coast of Scotland, has been a highlight of my adventures.

What makes exploring Scotland so convenient is the abundant public transport options. For people like me who are 22 and under, buses are free throughout Scotland. This makes it incredibly easy to hop on a bus and go wherever you want to explore. But beyond the public transport, most of my friends have cars, which has made our adventures even more accessible.

The Isle of Skye, in particular, is a place that has left a lasting impression. Its rugged coastline, dramatic cliffs, and rolling green hills are simply stunning. One of the standout experiences was visiting the Fairy Pools, where crystal-clear streams flow over smooth rocks, creating a magical landscape. And, of course, the Old Man of Storr was a sight to behold.

While Skye was undoubtedly a highlight, I've also had the chance to explore other amazing natural landscapes like the Highlands, Cairngorms National Park, and the Pentlands. Each of these places has its unique charm, and they've all contributed to my deep appreciation for Scotland's commitment to preserving its natural beauty.

Studying at the University of Edinburgh has not only expanded my academic horizons but has also allowed me to immerse myself in Scotland's incredible natural beauty. With accessible public transport and the convenience of friends with cars, exploring this stunning country has been a true joy, and I'm grateful for these memories and experiences.
