The second half of my study abroad experience has been transformative, not only because of the enriching travel but also due to the diverse classroom experiences that have expanded my worldview. Engaging with classmates from various cultural, academic, and professional backgrounds has enriched my discussions and deepened my understanding of complex topics, such as European integration and global trade. Hearing different perspectives challenged my assumptions and fostered a collaborative learning environment that has been as rewarding as any travel experience.
Two standout trips were my visits to Cambridge and Leeds, which offered distinct insights into British culture and history, while my academic journey at King’s College London introduced me to the power of diversity in education. In Cambridge, I was captivated by the city’s timeless elegance and academic legacy. Walking through the cobblestone streets and exploring historic colleges like King’s and Trinity felt surreal. Leeds provided a stark yet equally enriching contrast. Its vibrant energy, rooted in its industrial past, showcased a different side of the UK. Visiting the Kirkgate Market offered a glimpse into the city’s cultural diversity and community spirit. Leeds felt grounded and authentic, providing a northern perspective that balanced my experience of London’s fast-paced lifestyle.
As my study abroad journey nears its end, I am grateful for the interplay between academic and cultural exploration. These experiences have not only broadened my knowledge but also enhanced my adaptability and appreciation for diversity, skills that will serve me well in the future.
