excursion through Morocco

As part of my SIT program, I recently embarked on an incredible eight-day excursion to Morocco. Our journey began in Casablanca, where we spent our first night. The highlight of our visit was the breathtaking Hassan II Mosque, a stunning architectural marvel overlooking the Atlantic Ocean.

Our next stop was Rabat, the capital, where we stayed with a welcoming host family in the old medina. They welcomed us with open arms and fed us delicious tagine and refreshing mint tea, every single day. They even showed us how to cook tagine and pour mint tea- a new skill I will be bringing home!

Throughout the week, we attended lectures on Morocco's healthcare system, gaining valuable perspectives on how it operates. We examined the impact of development policies on public health, especially in rural areas, which allowed us to compare to Switzerland's healthcare system.

To cap off our adventure, we got to ride camels! It was the perfect way to send off such an unforgettable week! Overall, my time in Morocco was a mix of learning, laughing, and eating delicious food. I made some great memories with new friends and can’t wait for more adventures!
