The Covent Garden Christmas Markets

With the sun setting around 4 p.m., I found it hard to motivate myself to explore the city after my day ended. However, once the middle of November rolled around, I found a solution: holiday markets and activities. So, I thought I’d share some of my friends and my favorites. Enjoy!

Markets:
- Covent Garden Christmas Markets: In addition to the market stalls and shops open year-round, there are seasonal goods and holiday food + drinks available. The market is home to thousands of lights and decorations, as well as London’s tallest Christmas tree.

- King’s Cross Christmas Markets: This is a great place to do shopping for gifts. There is a large variety of vendors from food to clothing and home goods.

- Borough Market: This is a must-visit if you love anything food. Borough Market is a huge market featuring top-quality food and a wide range of food and drinks from a multitude of vendors. The market is decorated with lights and holiday garlands and has seasonal treats available.

- Hyde Park Winter Wonderland: This is a festive event that includes a Christmas market, rides, food, drinks, and shows. The standard entry fee for an adult is £5 (could be £7.50 on peak ticket times). I recommend attending this event for a well-rounded fun evening.

London is well known for their street decorations, especially during the winter season. The light displays are a must-see while exploring the streets of London. Here are a few places I recommend checking out:
- Regent Street
- Oxford Street
- Piccadilly Circus
- Carnaby Street
- Bond Street
- Leicester Square
- Trafalgar Square
