Experience:
Kim Rush serves as the Assistant Director of the Office for Study Abroad. In this role, Kim is responsible for office operations including the management of our advising services, program portfolio and partnership relations, and the office's online and media presence, among other responsibilities within our department's leadership team. Kim previously served as our office's Graduate Assistant/Express Advisor, Study Abroad Advisor for students in the Elliott School of International Affairs, and Manager of Advising Services. In addition to her work with our office, Kim also previously served as the Digital Marketing Officer on the Board of Directors of yPIE DC (Young Professionals in International Education). 

As part of her graduate experience, Kim conducted research on the internationalization of higher education and student exchange in both Cuba and Italy. Kim's research focused on effective program development for intercultural learning. During her undergraduate studies, she studied abroad for a fully-immersive semester in Montpellier, France. Kim also participated in a month-long summer program in Maastricht, Netherlands, which focused on Intercultural Communications and Human Rights. She even had the opportunity to sit in during a trial at the International Criminal Court in the Hague, Netherlands. In addition to those experiences, Kim enjoys traveling independently throughout the world.

Before joining the GW community, Kim worked as an enrollment and eligibility specialist in inbound and outbound international student health insurance.

Interesting Facts:
Not surprisingly, Kim loves to travel. Some of her more unique experiences while traveling include - spending New Year's Eve in Madeira Island, Portugal to see the Guinness Book of World Records' biggest fireworks display, visiting the graves of each of the namesakes of the Ninja Turtles (Michelangelo, Donatello, Raphael, Leonardo), seeing a trial of a Congolese warlord at the ICC, and stepping on a sea urchin in Greece.
