Greetings from London! As a study abroad student at the London School of Economics, I wanted to share some highlights for those looking to visit this incredible city.
London's iconic parks like Hyde and Regent's are certainly worth exploring. For more solitude, head to Hampstead Heath instead or take in scenic views from Primrose Hill. The neighborhoods surrounding these parks, Hampstead and Primrose offer many great shops, cafes and pubs.
Historic landmarks like Westminster Abbey, the Tower Bridge, and the British Museum are essential stops. Strolling along the Thames or taking a river cruise is a great way to fully appreciate these landmarks. Don't miss the aerial views from the Sky Garden, either.
I've discovered some excellent restaurants so far. For vegan fare, check out Mildred's. Bubala serves delicious Middle Eastern dishes. La Fromagerie in Bloomsbury combines a cheese shop with a cafe and is perfect for cheese boards. Ben's Cookies are also definitely a favorite. And for Korean food, Co&Ko (Jean's kitchen) in Soho is superb. Restaurants like Dishoom will give you a taste of the amazing Indian food available in London.
There's so much more I could say, but I don't want to give too much away! London is an incredible city. Make sure to explore as much as you can, meet people from around the world, and soak up all this place has to offer.
