Group Study Abroad 101 Session (1)
Note: This event is only open to students with active Spring 2023 applications and is a requirement for current applicants and is not intended as an info session for those who are not intending to study abroad in the upcoming Spring semester.
All undergraduate study abroad applicants are required to begin their study abroad process by first meeting with a representative from our office through our Drop-in/Express Services - this includes our express advisors and Study Abroad Community Ambassadors - to receive "Study Abroad 101" advising. Though Study Abroad 101 advising is typically one-on-one advising, we understand many students will be seeking to fulfill this requirement early in the Fall semester so we will be offering several group sessions on Tuesdays and Wednesdays within the first three weeks of the semester to help many students complete this requirement. If you are seeking to complete the requirement during this time, we ask that you do not set up a one-on-one appointment, and instead attend one of these group sessions.
This sessions will go over the basics of the full application process and how to get started, including an overview of our three main platforms - GW Passport, GW CATS, and the studyabroad.gwu.edu website - as well as pertinent policies to be aware of and how to navigate the process. Advanced registration is not required for this event.
This requirement must be completed before you will be able to set up any appointments with your school-specific study abroad advisor.
