During my study abroad program at Leeds in the UK, I had the incredible opportunity to travel to Italy and meet up with friends in Milan. Our adventure began with a scenic train journey to Verona, where we explored historic sites like Castlevecchio and the iconic locations associated with Shakespeare's "Romeo and Juliet." The blend of medieval architecture and romantic legends made Verona a truly enchanting destination.
One of the highlights of my trip was experiencing the efficiency of Italy's public transportation system. Just like in the UK, it was easy to navigate and use. With just one train ride, I was able to travel from Milan to Verona, connecting seamlessly to different parts of the country. This accessibility made exploring Italy's rich history and culture both convenient and enjoyable.
Ever since moving to DC as a student, I've gained a deep appreciation for reliable transit systems, especially coming from Miami, where public transportation is not as dependable. The ease of travel in Italy and the UK has shown me the importance of efficient public transit in enhancing the overall experience of living and studying abroad.
