Established in 1898, the Vienna University of Economics and Business (WU) is one of the oldest business universities in Europe and the EU's largest educational institution for business and economics, business law, and social sciences. GW students can attend Vienna during the fall, spring, summer or academic year.

GW Exchanges in Europe

Overview

This program is open to undergraduate GW School of Business and Economics majors. Students can choose which summer session they prefer or apply to attend both sessions. 

The International Summer University WU was established in 1990 and as of today, more than 4,750 students and young business graduates from all over the world have attended the program. The main objective of the ISU is to deepen specific knowledge in core business topics and to provide an education with an international and intercultural perspective. This is guaranteed by a global orientation in teaching, a team of internationally recruited lecturers, and participants that come from all over the world. The summer program offers courses in English during two consecutive sessions, three weeks in July and three weeks in August.

Courses

The undergraduate program consists of two courses per each session. Upon completion of each session, students will earn 8 ECTS credits for the two courses, allowing students to transfer back a total of 4 credits for each summer session.

Costs

Students participating on the program through the GW Exchange Tuition Waiver are responsible for the following costs:

  • WU Program Fee: 1,330 Euros*
  • Any meals and transportation not included in the Program Fee
  • Airfare

*The program fee includes accommodation, breakfast and lunch on lecture days, public transport, course materials, use of WU library, PC labs, etc.

How to Apply for a GW Exchange Program

Students can begin a GW Exchange program application at anytime by searching for their program of choice on GW Passport. Students must meet with their study abroad advisor prior to the GW Exchange program deadline for their applications to be considered.  Please refer to our Advising Services page to find the appropriate study abroad advisor for your school.
