Congratulations to Elliott School of International Affairs student, Angela George, for her participation in the World Health Summit in Berlin this past October as part of her study abroad internship program in Paris, France!  Angela is studying abroad in Paris, France this semester with the IES Abroad Paris Business and International Affairs program and has this to say about her experience:

"This fall, I have been spending my time abroad in Paris interning with the Centre Virchow-Villermé—a public health collaboration between the Franco-German Council of Ministers and major research universities. Earlier in October, I had the amazing opportunity to travel with our team to Berlin and participate in the 2015 World Health Summit. Our organization specifically ran a workshop on various aspects of the relationship between climate change and public health, and contributed to a larger keynote event on the same subject. When I had time, I was able to participate in different workshops on pertinent topics like refugee and cultural health. In addition, I had the chance to hear from Margaret Chan, the charismatic Director of the World Health Organization, and other leaders of major institutions such as the EU, UN, Pfizer and the Global Fund. Since then, our team has been working to prepare for our event at the upcoming COP21 UN Conference on Climate Change. As a Global Public Health concentration within the Elliott School, these amazing experiences have reignited, broadened, and deepened my passion for health policy—something I will carry with me, not just back to D.C. this spring, but throughout my life.”
