Program Leadership

Dr. Steve Suranovic - Academic Director

Steve Suranovic is the first Academic Director of the GW Global Bachelors Program and teaches the program core course ECON 2180 during the Shanghai Semester. Professor Suranovic received his B.S. in mathematics from the University of Illinois at Urbana/Champaign and his M.S. and Ph.D. in  economics from Cornell University.  

Professor Suranovic teaches principles of microeconomics, international trade and international finance theory and policy. In Fall 2002, he taught at Sichuan  University in Chengdu, China, as a visiting Fulbright lecturer. Since 2009 he has taught summer study abroad classes for GW students at Fudan University in  Shanghai

Professor Suranovic is on campus at GW during the fall semester and spends spring semesters with the Global Bachelor's Group in Shanghai. 

 

The Global Bachelor's Committee

The Global Bachelor’s Program is led by a committee of representatives from the Office of International Programs, Columbian College, the Elliott School, the School of Business, the Center for Career Services and the Office for Study Abroad. This joint effort allows students to coordinate their experience within their schools with an eye towards not just study abroad but their career beyond GW.
