Carly serves as a Study Abroad Advisor in the Office for Study Abroad for CCAS students. During her undergraduate studies at Marquette University, Carly studied abroad in Spain at Universidad Complutense de Madrid. In addition to this, she has studied, volunteered, and done research in the Dominican Republic, Jordan, and Cuba.
Carly began her career in education as a teacher in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. Her passion for education led her to move to Washington, DC where she earned her master’s degree in International Education and Development. Carly’s research interests lie in education in emergencies as well as social-emotional learning for children who are out of school.
During her graduate studies, Carly had the opportunity to present her research on refugee education in Jordan at The Washington Consortium for International and Comparative Education. In 2019, Carly collaborated with the Middle East Children’s Institute (MECI) in Amman, Jordan to develop resources for education specialists working with Syrian refugees. She co-authored two training manuals for MECI titled: “Health & Hygiene” and “Education Awareness.”

Carly has hiked the final 100 miles of the Camino de Santiago twice. Her goal is to complete all 500 miles of “The Way” someday soon.
