OSA Fall 2016 International Photo Contest Starts Today!
We are excited to announce that The Office for Study Abroad's Fall 2016 International Photo Contest is now underway! We will be accepting photo submissions from eligible students through Friday, October 21st at 5PM. Please see below for rules and eligibility requirements.
Eligibility: Undergraduate students who have studied abroad during one the following semesters and must be on campus this Fall 2016 semester:
Academic Year 2015
*** Students who are currently abroad are not eligible to submit photos to the OSA photo contest. Your time will be next fall, so get your photos ready!
All photos must have been taken by or include the student submitting them.
Entries and submitted photos become property of GW. By submitting your photograph(s), you permit GW’s Office for Study Abroad to use your photo(s) to promote our programs in any and all media.
Photo Quality: Photos submitted must be original, high quality photos taken from a camera or iPhone. Photos that have been edited will not be accepted. We will only accept jpg files.
1. Cityscapes and Landscapes - Photos of animals, natural landscapes, buildings, city views, etc.
2. People of the World – Photos of people from your host country or who you have met on your travels
3. It’s a GWorld! - Photos including GW students and/or GW logo
You may submit only one photo per category. There are three categories total.
Please e-mail your best shot(s) to firstname.lastname@example.org with the subject line, “OSA PHOTO CONTEST SUBMISSION_ YOURFULL NAME_CATEGORY.”
In the body of the message, please fill in the following:
Brief Description of the moment the photo was taken (2-3 sentences):
Full Name of student:
Semester and Year the Photo Was Taken:
Your photo files should be named with the following information: Last Name_Categorey.jpg.
For example: Smith_PeopleoftheWorld.jpg. We will only accept jpg files.
* SUBMISSIONS THAT DO NOT FOLLOW THIS FORMAT WILL NOT BE ELIGIBLE.
Following the submission deadline, all photos submitted according to the stated guidelines will be uploaded to the GW Office for Study Abroad Facebook page. Finalists will be determined by the number of “likes” their photos generate on Facebook. Following the Facebook voting round, the photos with the most “likes” will be deemed finalists. Finalists’ photos will be judged by a GW Colonial Crossroads Committee. Grand Prize and Category Winners will be announced at a reveal party in November, Date and Location TBD.
