Program Description:

Monash University - Arcadia University

Monash University

Monash University typifies a modern Australian university. It's large, with more than 40,000 students. It's international, with campuses on three continents and a lot of international students. And it's comprehensive, with thousands of courses offered in any subject area you can imagine. With two locations in Melbourne you'll also have all the activities that Australia's second largest city offers at your doorstep.

A world-class business program, strong programs in Australian and Asian studies, and modern laboratories for students interested in engineering and the sciences are just a few of the academic reasons to consider Monash. A particularly strong department of Communications offers an opportunity to focus on new media as well as virtual cultures and youth media.

Students looking for a more intimate campus setting should consider Monash's Gippsland campus, located over 100 miles from Melbourne. Gippsland offers excellent student support and the campus is highly integrated, offering multiple opportunities for students to meet Australian students both in the on-campus apartments where Arcadia program students live with local students and in class. Golf enthusiasts will also be interested to know that Gippsland has its very own golf course!

How to Apply:

Your application process will have two steps: apply for approval to study abroad through GW and apply to the program itself.

Apply for GW Approval to Study Abroad:

  1. Click the "Apply Now" button at the top of this page to begin an application.
  2. Log in with your GW net ID and password. This is the same information you use to log in to your GW email account.
  3. Complete all requirements on the right side of the screen. The Study Abroad Approval Form will begin your approval process. Once you've signed this form, you will receive an email within 2-3 weeks with the status of your approval.

Apply to the Program:

  1. Visit your program's website to begin an application. You may find the link to the program's homepage at the top of this page.
  2. Submit all required documents (transcripts, letters of recommendation, etc.) directly to the program sponsor.
  3. Submit Program Approval Forms to the Office for Study Abroad for completion. Often, programs will have forms requiring a study abroad advisor's signature. You may submit these forms for completion to the Office for Study Abroad once you have been approved. Forms will be ready for pick-up the next day, and you are responsible for sending them to the program sponsor.
